Ingredients to make homemade fish soup:
- 1 kilogram of fish remains (heads, skins, bones)
- 2 units of Onions
- 1 unit of Leek
- 1 unit of Carrot
- 1 unit of ripe tomato
- 300 grams of mussels
- 2 liters of water
- 1 pinch of salt
- Olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 200 grams of clean Monkfish or other white fish
- 16 units of Prawns or peeled prawns
- 2 units of boiled eggs
- 6 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- fried bread croutons
- 1 pinch of salt
How to make Homemade Fish Soup:
- Take a pan and add the fish remains (heads, bones, etc.). It also incorporates the mussels, one of the onions, the leek and the tomato, the three chopped ingredients.
- Add the two liters of water and put the pan on the fire with a pinch of salt. When it starts to boil, lower the heat to a simmer and let the fish broth cook and reduce by half.
- Once it has been reduced by half, strain the broth and reserve it. Separately, chop the other onion very finely and fry it with oil and salt in another pan.
- When the onion is browned, add the flour and mix well. Next, add the tomato sauce and continue mixing.
- Then, pour in the strained fish broth and cook everything for 15 minutes over low heat.
- Finally, add the chopped and seasoned monkfish (or the chosen white fish), the peeled prawns and the chopped boiled eggs. Adjust the flavor with salt and let it rest for a few minutes off the heat.
- Serve the fish soup with croutons of fried bread. You can prepare a green salad to accompany if you wish.
