Here I bring you a very simple, cheap and delicious recipe. A puff pastry filled with ham and cheese. A dish that we can put as a starter, as a snack at a party or for an informal dinner with friends.

Puff pastry cannot be missing in the kitchen since we can prepare both savory and sweet dishes, and prepare a simple and good dish on any occasion. We can make the filling of these puff pastry spirals with ham and cheese as varied as we like and use what we have in the fridge, because the result will also be great.

Ingredients to make spirals of ham and cheese:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 150 grams of York Ham
  • 8 slices of cheese to melt
  • 1 unit of Egg, to paint

How to make York Ham and Cheese Spirals:

The first thing we will do to make these York ham and cheese spirals is turn on the oven and heat it to 180º C. Next, we unroll the puff pastry and leave it on the same sheet of paper that it carries. If you prefer to make homemade puff pastry yourself, use this recipe that we offer you. Next, we cover the puff pastry with a layer of York ham. Once the dough of the salted puff pastry spirals is covered with the ham, we cover with another layer of cheese.

Next, we will roll up the puff pastry stuffed with ham and cheese carefully, so that the ingredients do not come out, until we form a roll.

Once the puff pastry roll with ham and cheese is formed, we will cut it into discs of about 2 cm. Then we will put the spirals of ham and cheese on a plate or tray for the oven, where we will have previously put baking paper.

Trick: We use the same paper that the puff pastry has.

Then beat the egg and paint the rolls with a kitchen brush. Next, we will introduce the ham and cheese spirals in the oven at 180º C until they are golden. Once they are well baked, the York ham and cheese spirals will be ready to serve!
