Yogurt Pens Recipe

Yogurt pens, or yogurt ice creams, are ice creams made from yogurt that are placed in a package or bag that usually has a cylindrical and elongated shape and are then frozen. Depending on the regionalism of each country, the pens receive the names of: bambino, bolillo bolo, buns, frozen, cube, cold hard, ice cream in a bag, ice cream, jaimitos, frozen toy, Martians, among others.

Ingredients to make Yogurt Pens:

  • 1 liter of liquid milk
  • 500 grams of firm or Greek yogurt
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • 100 grams of jam (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons of powdered milk

How to make Yogurt Balls:

  1. In the blender, incorporate the yogurt, the liter of liquid milk, the sugar and the powdered milk.
  2.  If you want to give it a touch of flavor, you can optionally add the jam that you like the most. For example, you can make strawberry yogurt pens or even use flavored yogurt.
  3. Blend all the ingredients wellto obtain a homogeneous and creamy mixture
  4. Little by little, pour the mixture into each bag.
  5. You can do this with the help of a bottle, introducing the mixture into it, or directly with the blender jar.
  6. Fill the bag leaving the end free to close it. To do this, roll up the empty end, applying pressure to eliminate any possible bubbles.
  7. After rolling up, tie a knotto completely close the bag.
  8. It is very important that the pressure is not lost to prevent the mixture from coming out and the yogurt pen not being as it should
  9. Place the yogurt pens in the freezer carefully and leave them for 24 hoursto freeze.
