Ingredients to make wonton stuffed with ground beef:
- 1 unit of slightly beaten egg
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1½ cups of flour without baking powder
- 200 grams of ground beef
- 1 unit of small onion grated, (5 tablespoons)
- 1 jet of abundant oil for frying
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 1 pinch of salt
How to make wonton stuffed with ground beef:
To make the base dough for the fried wonton, mix the flour and the egg with a pinch of salt and the water. Knead until all the ingredients are integrated and the result is a homogeneous mass. Let stand 10 minutes. Stretch the dough on the work surface leaving it very thin. Then, cut medium-sized rectangles of dough, about 7 to 9 centimeters.
Trick: Remember to sprinkle the work table with flour so that the dough does not stick
To prepare the ground meat filling, knead the meat with the finely chopped onion. Add salt and pepper to taste. Next, place a small portion of filling in the center of each rectangle of dough and fold diagonally. The idea is that there is a triangular empanadilla. Seal by moistening the edges and press each wonton well so that the filling does not come out. The wonton stuffed with ground meat can be fried or steamed. If you make them fried, remember to remove excess oil with absorbent paper.
Serve the wonton stuffed with ground beef accompanied by soy sauce, tamarind sauce or sweet and sour sauce. These Chinese dumplings can be presented as a starter before a sweet and sour chicken dish.
