Whole wheat spaghetti with prawn’s recipe

This time we have prepared some magnificent spaghetti with prawns for which we have used whole meal spaghetti, since they have more fiber and fill us up more than traditional pasta. Spaghetti with prawns and tomato is a very simple and very common recipe in Italian cuisine. They can also be accompanied by other shellfish such as mussels or clams.

To make these spaghetti with frozen prawns we have cooked the pasta in the prawn cooking water, which gives it a more intense and authentic flavor. Don’t miss out on this super dish that is prepared in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients to make whole wheat spaghetti with prawns:

  • 6 prawns
  • 200 grams of whole meal spaghetti
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tomato
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper

How to make whole wheat spaghetti with prawns:

  1. We are going to start by peeling and cutting the garlic into slices. Brown the garlic in a panwith olive oil and add the peeled and diced tomatoes.
  2.  Season with salt and pepper and let cook for 6 minutes over low heat.
  3. Meanwhile, in a pot with boiling water and salt, cook the prawnsfor a couple of minutes to thaw them.
  4. Remove the prawns from the pot but do not throw away the cooking water because we are going to cook the whole wheat spaghetti in the same water.
  5. Tip:The cooking time of the spaghetti depends on the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Peel the prawns, cut them into small pieces if they are very large and add them to the garlic and tomato sauce.
  7. Let them cook for 1 more minutes and remove from the heat.
  8. Add the cooked spaghettito the sauce, add salt if necessary and add a splash of cooking water to make them juicier.
  9. We move well so that the flavors are integrated.
  10. This whole wheat spaghetti with prawnscan be served with a little chopped fresh parsley on top and they are delicious.
