Very easy homemade blueberry jam recipe

This blueberry jam recipe is so easy to make! It is perfect for decorating and filling cakes, to eat for breakfast with toast or for any sweet recipe that comes to mind. In addition, it is a great way to take advantage of the ripe fruit, since in this state it is even sweeter.

  • 500 grams of blueberries
  • 350 grams of sugar (1¾ cups)
  • ½ lemon (juice)

How to make very easy homemade blueberry jam:

  1. Making cranberry jam is very easy, and you can make it with cranberries or blueberries because the process is exactly the same.
  2. First, wash the fruit well and place it in a pot, crush it slightly and add the sugar.
  3. Heat the preparation over high heat until it starts to boil.
  4.  First stir the red fruit jam for 5 minutes until the blueberries have a little juice
  5. Keep stirring over high heat and when it boils (7-10 minutes) lower the heat to medium. Then add the lemon and continue stirring until it thickens a bit.
  6. The cooking time varies depending on how thick we like the jam, so when it reaches the desired texture, remove it from the heat.
  7. It also depends a lot on the type of kitchen and its heat intensity. In my case I finished in approximately 25 minutes.
  8. Keep in mind that when it cools it thickens
  9. If you want, you can crush it to make it finer.
  10.  Then use it to decorate a cheesecake, for example, or reserve it in previously sterilized glass jars.
  11. Tip: The total cooking time of the red fruit jam is around 20 or 30 minutes.
  12. This homemade blueberry jam can last for months unopened as long as you re-sterilize the jars once filled and closed.
  13.  As soon as you open the bottle, we recommend consuming it within a maximum period of two weeks.
  14. To keep it longer, you can add a tablespoon of lemon juice during preparation.
