How to make Vegetarian Hallacas:

Prepare the dough for the Venezuelan vegetarian hallacas. To do this, once the corn is ground, a sauce is prepared by frying the garlic, onions with olive oil, soy sauce and salt to taste.

Then the corn flour is added making encircling movements. The dough for the Venezuelan hallacas should be compact so that it does not stick to the spoon when you roll it out. Prepare the stew by chopping all the vegetables into squares, and then add the parboiled chickpeas.

To this stew is added soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and if you prefer to improve the taste, add sauce with green dressings, that is, the liquid that comes with the capers and olives that can be perfectly added to the stew.

Mix everything very well and leave to rest overnight, preferably in a clay pot and covered with banana leaves. Extend the mass of the Venezuelan hallacas and place in the center the corresponding amount of stew and on it, a sample of each of the elements of the decoration. Tie with fine rope. Cook the vegetarian hallacas in boiling water for two hours.

You can serve and accompany these Venezuelan vegetarian hallacas with ham bread and as a drink, try the Venezuelan tizana.
