Vegan Smoked Salmon Recipe

This vegan salmon recipe that I bring simulates smoked salmon but is prepared based on simple and healthy ingredients whose combination creates a very successful flavor. This recipe is vegan, that is, it does not contain any ingredients of animal origin, in addition to being low in fat. Vegan smoked salmon is ideal to serve as a starter or to prepare sandwiches, quiches and savory cakes, salads, etc.

Ingredients to make Vegan Smoked Salmon:

  • 4 carrots
  • 1 kombi seaweed (big strip)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons of water

How to make Vegan Smoked Salmon:

  1. Peel the carrots and cut them into thin slices with a peeler or in a food processor.
  2. Place the sliced ​​carrots in a bowl and microwave for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Transfer the carrot to a baking dish and place the kombi seaweed strip on top.
  4. Bake the carrot with the seaweed for 5-6 minutes.
  5. Cut the kombi seaweed into pieces with kitchen scissors and put it in the blender glass. Pour into the blender the rest of the ingredients to prepare the smoked salmon substitute dressing. Blend until the seaweed is cut into smaller pieces and the ingredients are integrated.
  6. Place the carrot in a bowl and pour the dressing inside. Stir well to soak the carrot and let it rest in the fridge for several hours.
  7. Tip: Ideally, leave it in a tupperware container with a closed lid for 24 hours so that it absorbs all the flavors.
  8. After the resting time, the smoked vegan salmon is ready to be used in sandwiches, cakes and quiches, salads, etc.
