This vegan pasta carbonara would be an aberration for an Italian, because it contains milk (vegetable milk, but milk). I believe that the important thing is that it be tasty, and that it is worth offering this carbonara recipe for those who follow a vegan diet. So…, here you have my proposal for vegan carbonara pasta! Following the step by step, you will see that it is very easy to prepare.
Ingredients to make Vegan Pasta Carbonara:
- 140 grams of Spaghetti
- 75 grams of Tofu
- ¼ onion
- 1 handful of walnuts
- 300 milliliters of vegetable milk
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of Salt
- 1 pinch of Nutmeg
- 1 pinch of black pepper
How to make Vegan Pasta Carbonara:
- Before we start, we check that we have all the ingredients for this vegan white pasta recipe.
- You could replace the tofu with seaman, the walnuts with another dry fruit (raisins are also very good), and as for the vegetable milk, I propose three options: rice, oatmeal or almond.
- First we cook the spaghetti, in a pot with plenty of boiling water and a teaspoon or two of salt. Remember: no oil is added to cook the pasta.
- So that it does not stick, it is enough to stir the paste from time to time, and especially the first minute.
- As for the cooking time, follow the instructions of the brand of pasta.
- You will see that it is very easy and fast: you can prepare it in the time the pasta is cooked.
- Drain the pasta when it is al dente, serve it on a plate and drizzle it generously with the vegan white sauce.
- Above the spaghetti in vegan sauce, a pinch of nutmeg and another of black pepper.
