Turmeric Rice Recipe

Turmeric is a typical spice in Indian cuisine and other Asian and Eastern countries. Turmeric is attributed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and the truth is that it can be included in any type of preparation. Turmeric rice is a delicacy and its exotic flavor will not only enchant you but it will also combine perfectly with your usual dishes.

Ingredients to make Turmeric Rice:

  1. 1 cup of rice
  2. 2 cups of Water (480 milliliters)
  3. ¼ unit of Onion
  4. 1 clove garlic
  5. ½ dessert spoon of fresh ginger
  6. 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  7. 1 jet of Oil
  8. 1 pinch of salt

How to make Turmeric Rice:

  • Before making the turmeric flavored rice, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
  • In a pot with oil, fry the finely chopped onion, garlic and ginger over low heat. Sauté the whole set for a few minutes until the onion is translucent. Add a taste of salt.
  • Add the turmeric powder and fry for a few more seconds. This process will activate the flavor of the species that will aromatize the rice.
  • Add the rice and pearl together with the sauce. The process of pearling rice consists of frying the grain until it becomes slightly transparent.
  • Add the water, wait for it to boil, and add half a teaspoon of salt. When the water on the surface evaporates, cover and lower the heat. Cook the rice with turmeric for 25 minutes.
  • Serve and cover with some almond slices to decorate the rice with turmeric. And if you like the flavor of spices and flavored rice, you can also try basmati rice, ideal to accompany stewed meats.
