Turmeric and Ginger Tea

Ingredients to make Turmeric and Ginger Tea:

  1. 250 milliliters of water
  2. 1 slice of ginger
  3. 1 slice of turmeric or 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  4. ½ lemon (optional)
  5. 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

How to make Turmeric Ginger Tea:

  • Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan or pot. Turmeric and ginger tea can also be made with milk, although in this case the drink obtained is called golden milk.
  • Trick: If you use milk, it is preferable that it does not come to a boil.
  • Peel the ginger, cut a rather thin slice and add it to the water. Do the same with the turmeric, keeping in mind that the amount of turmeric should be half that of ginger. Also, it is not recommended to take more than 1.5 grams of turmeric per day in the case of adults.
  • Tip: If you prefer, you can use turmeric powder.
  • Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and add it to the saucepan, along with the cinnamon stick. Both lemon and cinnamon are optional ingredients, however, they promote fat burning thanks to their properties and improve the flavor of the tea. Therefore, they are highly recommended.
  • Trick: Mix well with a spoon so that the lemon juice is integrated, especially if you use turmeric powder.
  • Cook the tea for 5 minutes over low heat, turn off the heat, and let it steep for another 5 minutes. Afterwards, strain the turmeric ginger tea and serve it. This amount is for a single cup. You can sweeten it with a teaspoon of honey or agave syrup.
