- 200 grams of Lentils
- 1½ pounds of water
- 1 unit of Carrot
- 1 unit of Onion
- 2 units of Tomato
- 1 lemon unit
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 handful of mint leaves
- 1 pinch of salt and pepper
How to make Turkish Lentil Soup:
- Before making this delicious Turkish soup, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
- In a pot with olive oil, add the onion and carrot cut into small cubes. Cook over low heat with the pot covered until soft, add a pinch of salt.
- When ready, add the peeled tomato, without seeds and cut into small cubes. Cover again and cook until the tomato releases its juices.
- Add the lentils, water and mint leaves. Cook uncovered over medium heat until lentils are cooked through, about 30 minutes.
- Finally add the cumin, lemon juice, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix the seasonings very well and cook 10 more minutes.
