Tuna croquettes with potato recipe

It is about some delicious  homemade croquettes, in which we fuse the tuna croquettes with the potato croquettes, and we obtain an exquisite tuna croquettes with potato.

Ingredients to make tuna croquettes with potatoes:

  • 1½ cups of ground bread
  • 2 cans of Tuna in water
  • 3 pieces of medium potato
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 pinch of garlic salt
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 piece of onion

How to make Tuna Potato Croquettes:

In the following image you can see the ingredients that we will use for our tuna croquettes with potatoes. We are going to start by washing and peeling the potatoes, once clean we place them in a saucepan with enough water to cover them and let them cook over high heat for approximately 20 minutes. We also add a pinch of salt to the water.

Trick: We check that the potatoes are ready when they feel soft when pricked with a fork or knife.

After this time and with the potatoes ready, we drain the water with which they were cooked and place them in a deep bowl, then with the help of a flattener we begin to make  mashed potatoes, as we can see in the image.

Once the potato is mashed, add the finely chopped onion, a pinch of garlic salt, a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper, and incorporate perfectly. This will give an even better flavor to our tuna croquettes with potatoes. Now we are going to add the tuna and the egg and incorporate again perfectly. Then we begin to form our potato croquettes: we take a little of our tuna and potato mixture and with the help of our palms we make a small plump cylinder, like the one we can see in the image, and we continue forming more until we finish with all our mixture of homemade croquettes. Now we take the tuna croquettes with potatoes and we are going to bread them with the ground bread, making sure that they are completely covered by it.

Once all our potato and tuna croquettes are breaded, we are going to place them in a pan with previously heated oil, so that they fry very well, we change their position every couple of minutes to prevent them from burning and promote that all the parts of our homemade croquettes are very well browned. We fry them over medium heat. When they are ready, place the tuna croquettes with potatoes on absorbent paper to remove any excess oil they may have.

We serve them hot, and we can accompany them with a garnish of steamed vegetables and we can season them with our delicious mayonnaise and lemon dressing, they are exquisite. Bon Appetite!
