Fried rice with vegetables is a typical dish of Chinese cuisine that consists of sautéing rice cooked over high heat and very quickly with soy sauce. In this recipe, apart from the vegetables, we are also going to use tofu, a soy-based product that is used in the preparation of vegan meals due to its high content of vegetable protein.
Tofu fried rice is a vegan dish, that is, without any animal ingredients, but at the same time it is delicious and full of flavor, as well as very easy to make.
Ingredients to make Tofu Fried Rice:
- 2 cups of rice
- 200 grams of Tofu
- 1 bunch of bean sprouts
- 1 Carrot
- ½ cup of peas
- 1 red pepper
- ¼ red cabbage
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 4 cups of water (960 milliliters)
How to make Tofu Fried Rice:
- The first step is to cook the rice. Cover the rice with the water in a saucepan and cook until soft. We reserve it to later incorporate it into the preparation.
- Remember that to cook white rice you should always use twice as much water as rice.
- On the other hand we begin to enlist the vegetables. To do this, peel and grate the carrot, cut the pepper and cut the red cabbage into strips. We also cut the tofu into cubes.
- Heat a frying pan with oil and sauté all the cut vegetables together with the peas until soft. We also cook the tofu on the grill until it browns a little.
- Increase the heat of the pan to high and add the cooked rice along with the tofu. Add the soy sauce and sauté over high heat stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes.
- We check the salt level of our dish of fried rice with tofu and vegetables and correct it if necessary.
- To finish, we just have to sprinkle the sesame seeds on top and serve.
