Ingredients to make Sweet Porridge:

  • 100 grams of common wheat flour
  • 90 milliliters of light olive oil
  • 800 milliliters of skimmed milk
  • 180 grams of white sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of aniseed or matalahúva
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 piece of lemon rind

How to make Sweet Porridge:

  1. Put a saucepan to heat with the milk, the lemon peel and the cinnamon stick. Keep the preparation over medium heat until it begins to boil.
  2.  Watch that the milk does not overflow when boiling, but keep the heat like this for 4 minutes. Remove the saucepan when this time has passed, remove the lemon peel and cinnamon.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet and fry the bread pieces over medium-low heat, turning them over so that they are browned on all sides.
