Stuffed Homemade Empanadas Recipe

In this recipe for homemade stuffed empanadas we will teach you how to prepare some delicious empanadas, from the preparation of the dough step by step to the procedure to prepare the classic meat filling, although if you do not like it you can always make your own filling with the ingredients that you prefer.

With this recipe we will teach you how to prepare the empanada dough for frying, but this version can also be cooked in the oven, so you decide if you want it crispier or lighter.

Ingredients to make Homemade Stuffed Empanadas:

Dough

  • 1½ kilograms of wheat flour
  • 400 grams of Fat
  • 1½ cups of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika

  • 500 grams of chopped loin ball
  • 2 boiled potatoes
  • 4 onions
  • 4 green onions
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • 250 grams of Fat
  • 1½ teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Eaten
  • 2 teaspoons of ground chili

How to make Homemade Stuffed Empanadas:

We gather all the ingredients and preheat the oven to a moderate-high temperature, approximately 180ºC.

Keep in mind that the filling for these homemade baked empanadas is optional, since you can make them from anything, not just meat like the ones we will make next.

To make the dough for empanadas , you must combine all the ingredients on the list until integrated. The result should be a soft and slightly elastic dough, when you have it, form a ball and let it rest in a bowl, covered with a cloth.

Leave the dough to rest for half an hour and after this time, sprinkle flour on a flat surface and stretch the dough with the help of a rolling pin. When you have it, cut pieces of dough with a circular mold about 15 centimeters in diameter.

Ideally, leave it 1-2 centimeters thick. To make the meat filling , chop everything finely and fry the onion. When it begins to turn transparent, add the meat to the pan and let it cook a bit.

Then season to taste and add the rest of the ingredients on the list. Reserve until it reaches room temperature.

To assemble the homemade empanadas, we put a spoonful of stuffing on each disc of dough and seal the edges, moistening them with a little water and then flattening with a fork.
