Stewed Lentils with Ribs Recipe

  • 80 grams of Lentils
  • ½ onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 tomato
  • 2 Carrot
  • 1 potato
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 200 grams of pork ribs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground cumin
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 jet of olive oil

How to make Braised Lentils with Ribs:

1.We gather all the ingredients to make the braised lentils with ribs. Remember that it is important to hydrate the lentils before cooking them. I let them soak for 2 to 4 hours before preparing them, but you can also put them in water the night before.

2.In a pot, fry the onion with a little oil, let it cook for a couple of minutes and add the chopped pepper.

3.Add the pork ribs to brown and seal. Season with salt and pepper, let them cook for 3 minutes, remove them and set aside.

4.Add the grated tomatoes and let them cook for 4-5 minutes over low heat. After that time, we beat the soffit with the help of the mixer.

5.Put a little more oil in the pot and add the carrots (peeled and sliced), the drained lentils, the bay leaf, salt, ground black pepper and a pinch of ground cumin. Stir to integrate the flavors.

6.It is time to incorporate the soffit that we have previously beaten. We put water, about 450 milliliters. Let the lentil stew boil for 20-25 minutes.
