Ingredients to make Stewed Beef:

  • 3 pounds of beef
  • 4 units of Tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • ½ unit of white onion
  • ½ unit of red chili
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 pinch of Thyme
  • ½ cup of white wine
  • 2 envelopes of Seasoning with cilantro and achiote
  • 1 teaspoon of beef bouillon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 units of Potatoes cut in four
  • 1 unit of carrot cut into cubes
  • 1 unit of green Tomatillo

How to make Stewed Beef:

  1. Cut the beef into small pieces and fry it in hot olive oil for 10 minutes at most. Then, add the beef broth, the bay leaves, and the thyme and keep stirring so that the meat is impregnated with the aromas.
  2. Separately, remove the stem from the tomatoes and the tomatillo, peel the onion and garlic, and blend all these ingredients. When it is well blended, add the sauce to the meat, stir and let it cook over medium-low heat.
  3. Tip: You can add a pinch of cumin to enhance the flavor of the stew.
  4. Halfway through cooking, add the potatoes, peeled and cut into four, and the carrot, also peeled and cut. When the beef is soft, add the seasoning, the wine and salt to taste. If you notice that the stew is too thick, you can add water in small amounts.
  5. When the beef stew is ready, remove the casserole from the heat and serve it hot with white rice.
