Spiral Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients to make Spiral Apple Pie:

  • For the filling:
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 600 grams of green apple
  • 25 cubic centimeters of lemon juice
  • For the mass:
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 200 grams of flour 0000
  • 1 egg
  • 40 grams of butter
  • 40 grams of sugar

How to make Spiral Apple Pie:

  1. To start preparing the spiral apple pie recipe, first mix the dry ingredients, that is, flour, salt, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and sugar.
  2. Next, make a hole in the center.
  3. Turn the egg, soft butter and oil in the center. Integrate all the ingredients until you get a smooth dough.
  4. Keep in mind that you should not knead, only join them, since otherwise you will develop gluten and your dough will not be broken.
  5. Take the dough to a clean counter and covered with a sheet of plastic wrap.
  6.  Cover it with another film and stretch it with the help of a rollerapproximately 0.5 cm high.
  7.  Wrapped in the film, take it to the fridge on a firm and straight base while you prepare the filling.
  8. For the pie filling, wash the apples with a food brush. Then, cut them in half and, in turn, cut into thin slices approximately 0.5 cm wide.
  9. Remove the seeds, but keep the shell. Mix them with the lemon juice, honey, sugar and cornstarch.
  10. You can let it rest for at least 30 minutes so that the sugar softens the apples a bit and makes them release some of their liquid, you can also heat them for 1 minute in the microwave at maximum power.
  11. Once you have let the apples rest or have heated them up, remove the dough from the refrigerator and arrange it on the chosen mold. In this case it is a glass Pyrex mold, 24 cm in diameter and 4 cm high.
  12. Next, arrange the apple slices superimposed on each other, as you can see in the image.
  13. When you complete the first row, overlap the next one and so on until you complete the spiral of the entire apple pie.
  14. Clean up the edges and cook your cake in the medium oven at 180ºC for approximately 30 minutes. We point out that this cake is not made with phyllo dough, as it is very thin and could break. To eat!
