Spinach with chickpeas recipe in Thermo mix

Spinach with chickpeas is a typical autumn stew and the days when the cold begins to be felt. Typical in some regions of Spain, this chickpea recipe hardly needs any ingredients and is ideal for taking advantage of old bread that we have at home.

If you want to use your Thermo mix to really cook, keep an eye on the instructions that we show you, because this recipe for spinach with chickpeas in Thermo mix will become one of your favorite dishes and no one will believe that you could have made such a rich stew do with a food processor.

Ingredients to make Spinach with chickpeas in Thermo mix:

  • 50 grams of Oil
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 piece of toasted bread
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 pinch of ground ginger
  • 1 large can of cooked chickpeas
  • 2 packages of frozen spinach of 400 g
  • 400 grams of water
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Spinach with chickpeas in Thermo mix:

1.Rinse and drain the chickpeas. Defrost the spinach; I defrost it in the microwave following the instructions on the package. I prefer to put a package of spinach and another of chard, but if you wish you can make the recipe only with spinach.

2.Pour the oil into the Thermo mix glass and program 3 minutes at aroma temperature, speed 1. When finished add the bread and garlic and program 5 more minutes, temperature 100ºC and speed 1.

3.When the 5 minutes have passed, add the paprika, cumin, ginger and salt together with a cup of water and blend for a few seconds at speed 6, until it looks as shown in the photograph (be careful with the steam).

4.Then we will put the butterfly on the blades, and add the chickpeas, spinach and water.

5.Program for 25 minutes at a temperature of 100ºC and speed 1. When the time has passed, you have to try and if the chickpeas are a bit hard, put them for another 5 minutes. Put the spinach with chickpeas in a bowl or tureen and mix well before serving. We can accompany this dish with white rice and homemade bread.
