Spinach and cheese lasagna recipe

Spinach lasagna is a delicious dish and a great way to eat a vegetable that has too many detractors such as spinach, despite the fact that there are a thousand ways to prepare it and that are delicious.

The proposal that I share today also has soft cheese that makes it very soft and tasty. Do you dare? I hope you like it!

Ingredients to make Spinach and Cheese Lasagna:

  • 800 grams of Spinach
  • 250 grams of fresh cheese
  • 6 sheets of pasta for precooked lasagna
  • 120 grams of grated cheese
  • 500 grams of homemade béchamel sauce
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil

How to make Spinach and Cheese Lasagna:

  1. To cook the spinach, in a casserole we put the water together with the spinach and put it to heat.
  2. When it has been boiling for about five minutes, drain the spinach.
  3. Then, in a frying pan we put a tablespoon of olive oil and when it is hot we add the drained spinach.
  4. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg and sauté for about five minutes. Remove from heat and reserve.
  5. Cut the fresh cheese into wedges and reserve.
  6. Trick:You can substitute the soft cheese for the one of your preference.
  7. To assemble the spinach lasagna, put a thin layer of homemade béchamel sauce on the base of a tray suitable for the oven to prevent the lasagna plates from sticking and so we can easily remove the portions.
  8. Cover with lasagna sheets, pour half of the spinach on top, cover with béchamel sauce and place half of the cheese on top.
  9. We repeat the operation, covering with lasagna sheets, pour the rest of the spinach, put béchamel and on top the rest of the cheese.
  10. Trick:I use lasagna plates that go from the container to the oven without the need to cook them beforehand.
  11. I advise you to look at the instructions of the ones you buy to avoid surprises
  12. Finally we place a new batch of pasta plates for lasagna, cover with béchamel and abundant grated cheese.
  13. Next, we put it in the preheated oven at 180ºC and bake for about 30-35 minutes
  14. We wait for our spinach and cheese lasagna to warmup for a few minutes and serve.
  15. We can also wait for it to cool completely and cover it with film; we can store it in the refrigerator for dinner or the next day or freeze it.
