Spinach and cheese croquettes recipe

This time we are going to prepare some delicious spinach and cheese croquettes with another way of eating vegetables. If you don’t like spinach very much, try it in croquettes, they are very good.

Ingredients to make Spinach and Cheese Croquettes:

  • 200 grams of spinach
  • 1 onion
  • 50 grams of grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • 500 milliliters of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 package of breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs                            

How to make Spinach and Cheese Croquettes:

We prepare the ingredients to make the cheese and spinach croquettes. Chop the onion very finely. We wash the spinach.

Put a frying pan with the butter and oil, add the onion and let it cook until it is very poached.

When the onion is golden, add the spinach and sauté them together with the onion. Then add the flour, stir everything and cook the flour for a minute. We will add the milk little by little and stir.

When we see that the dough is almost ready, we incorporate the grated cheese. We continue stirring until the dough of the spinach and cheese croquettes comes off the pan. We taste salt and rectify.

Take the dough out, put it in a bowl and when it cools down, put it in the fridge for 3-4 hours. Or from one day to another.

In one bowl beat the eggs and in another put the breadcrumbs. We form the cheese and spinach croquettes and pass them through the egg and breadcrumbs.

In a frying pan with abundant hot oil we will fry the croquettes, brown them and take them out. Until they are all ready. We serve the spinach and cheese croquettes as a starter, appetizers or tapas.
