Soupy Rice With Octopus and Prawns Recipe

The soupy rice with octopus and prawns is ideal to enjoy at a special dinner. This rice dish is characterized by being soft, creamy and with strong flavors. Although it may not seem like it, it is a quick and easy recipe that everyone will surely like. I recommend accompanying it with a glass of rosé wine.

Ingredients to make soupy rice with octopus and prawns:

  1. 150 grams of Octopus
  2. 100 grams of Prawns
  3. 250 grams of Arborio rice
  4. 1 pinch of Saffron
  5. 1 pinch of Paprika
  6. 50 grams of onion
  7. 50 grams of red pepper
  8. 2 garlic cloves
  9. 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  10. 30 milliliters of olive oil
  11. 1 pinch of salt
  12. 1 pinch of Pepper

How to make soupy rice with octopus and prawns:

  • Before making this recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.
  • In a pot with water and salt, cook the octopus cut into pieces for 20 minutes. Reserve the cooking water to prepare the rice.
  • Separately, in a pot with oil, fry the onion, garlic and finely chopped pepper until soft. Season.
  • Add the rice and tomato paste to the pot. Mix with the sauce very well for a few minutes.
  • Add the paprika, saffron and little by little the octopus broth. Keep stirring until the grain of the rice is al dente, rectify the flavor with salt and pepper.
  • Trick: Approximately 750 ml of octopus broth are used for this preparation
  • Five minutes before finishing the rice, add the prawns and the seasoned octopus. Mix very well and continue cooking.
  • Finally, serve the soupy rice with octopus and prawns, decorating the plate with a few slices of lemon.
