Smoothie recipe for crispy fried fish

Fried fish is the Sunday lunch par excellence in several Latin American countries, ideal for sharing with the family because it is loved by young and old alike for its thin, crunchy outer layer and its soft interior. This texture is achieved by adding beer to the batter instead of water or milk, the right amount of flour, and seasonings.

This dish is quite versatile, you can serve it with any garnish and/or a salad to spice up the final recipe. It is usually eaten with rice, mashed potatoes, or French fries, sometimes served on a lettuce leaf with tomato slices around it. Another option is a corn salad with homemade mayonnaise. 1. Wash and prepare the fish fillets. If it has skin try to remove it, it can also be eaten but it is better without the skin.
  2. Season the fish with the lemon juice, pepper and salt.
  3. Prepare the batter for fried fish by mixing the rest of the ingredients in a bowl, that is, the flour, the beer, the salt, the pepper, the mustard and the paprika.
  4. Tip: You can make the batter for fried fish without wheat flour using rice flour, chickpea flour or cornstarch.
  5. Using absorbent paper, blot excess moisture from each fillet before dipping into batter.
  6. Trick: Preheat the oil in a pot or high skillet.
  7. Pass both sides of the steak through the batter, dropping a little of the excess before frying.
  8. In the skillet with boiling oil, fry each fillet for 3 to 5 minutes per side. If you like it well browned, repeat this 2 times on each side.
  9. Let the fried fish rest for 5 minutes on absorbent paper and serve while it is still hot. You will see that with this batter for fried fish it is very crunchy and with an incredible flavor. As we have mentioned, the trick is to use beer instead of milk. Now, if you wanted to make the batter for fried fish without beer, you should substitute this drink for water.

With what to accompany the fried fish

For this recipe, choose a soft fish that is not heavy when eaten and preferably without bones. Thus, you can use white fish such as hake, pippin, tilapia or tilefish. We recommend this because the batter for fried fish is already a bit heavy, which is why it is preferable to balance the dish with a softer fish.
