Smoked Salmon Wrap Recipe

Wraps are that delicious way to fill wheat tortillas, for appetizers, main dishes, dinners or breakfasts. There are thousands of possible combinations to make wraps and whether they are light or not, these dishes always get out of trouble because they are usually made with easy and quick recipes. This time we will make one of the most classic, the smoked salmon wrap with a gourmet touch with capers, cream cheese and whole wheat tortillas, perfect for the diet.

Ingredients to make Smoked Salmon Wrap:

  • 2 units of whole meal flour tortilla
  • 1 unit of small avocado
  • 3 tablespoons light cream cheese
  • 1 handful of Capers
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of Mustard
  • 1 piece of smoked salmon
  • 2 lettuce leaves

How to make Smoked Salmon Wrap:

The first step in preparing this delicious and healthy salmon wrap will be making the dressing. To do this, finely chop the capers. Next, place the cream cheese, capers and mustard in a bowl along with a little salt and pepper. I have used classic mustard and a mix of peppers. You can use djon mustard if you prefer a milder flavor. Mix everything very well until you get a smooth cream. Reserve in the fridge until you are going to use it. Separately, peel the avocado and cut into small cubes. If you have a large avocado, half will be enough. Cut the smoked salmon into thin strips. I have smoked fresh salmon with smoking salt and thyme.

Cut the lettuce finely, if possible with a ceramic or plastic knife to prevent browning. I have used a mix of greens with escarole, lettuce and arugula, but you can use any type of lettuce.

To heat the tortillas of this light wrap, place them in a plastic bag and take them to the microwave for about 10 seconds. Finally, assemble the salmon wrap by spreading each tortilla with the cream cheese dressing, then place the ingredients, first the lettuce, then the salmon and finally the avocado. Roll up the tortilla, carefully folding one end inward.  The other end is left open. Serve the smoked salmon wrap whole or cut pieces to serve as a tapa or appetizer. This delicious dish also serves as a light dinner
