Smoked Salmon Skewers Recipe

Ingredients to make Smoked Salmon Skewers:

  • 200 grams of smoked salmon
  • 1 bag of cherry tomatoes
  • 50 grams of Walnuts
  • 150 grams of light cream cheese
  • 50 grams of cooked peeled prawns
  • 10 mozzarella pearls

  • Mango chutney
  • Pesto sauce

How to make Smoked Salmon Skewers:

The first step in making these delicious easy smoked salmon skewers will be gathering all the ingredients. Keep in mind that the quantities are always optional since this cold appetizer recipe does not require any special cooking. Start by cutting the salmon into cubes, the idea is to cut square pieces more or less the same size, so to make these cold canapés it is better that you buy a whole piece of salmon instead of fillets.

If you have fresh salmon at home you can smoke it yourself with the homemade smoked salmon recipe. On the other hand, finely chop the nuts. We do not want to get a flour so do not crush them in the blender, it will be enough to chop them with a knife until you get small pieces as seen in the photo. Now form balls of battered cream cheese with the chopped walnuts.

Making the cheese balls is a bit complicated because the cheese is quite sticky, but don’t worry because when you pass it through the nuts you will be able to shape it without problems. Reserve this in the fridge to harden a bit.

Tip: The cheese balls should be about the same size as the pieces of salmon

Having all the ingredients ready, we will start to assemble our salmon canapés. So, the first of them will be the smoked salmon and prawn skewers. To make them, simply stick a king prawn on a wooden stick and place a piece of smoked salmon right on top. These simple skewers will be served with the mango sauce.

We continue with the skewers of smoked salmon with pesto. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and place first a piece of salmon, then a tomato half followed by another piece of salmon and finished with a mozzarella pearl. We will serve these skewers accompanied by the pesto sauce.

The last of our smoked salmon skewers will be made with the cream cheese and walnut balls. Then place a piece of salmon first, followed by the cheese ball and another piece of salmon, as seen in the photo.
