Ingredients to make Shrimp and Tilapia Ceviche:

  • 2 fresh tilapia fillets
  • 500 grams of precooked shrimp
  • 1 unit of large red onion
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 pinch of red pepper
  • 15 grams of fresh coriander
  • 4 units of Lemons
  • 1 unit of Avocado
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 pinch of garlic paste

How to make Shrimp and Tilapia Ceviche:

The first step to make shrimp ceviche is to pre-list the ingredients. Cut the fish into small squares, put them in a plastic bowl and add the lemon juice. The idea is that the fish is marinated in this juice, so we use a quantity of lemons so that the fish is completely submerged.

Add the shrimp and the red onion cut into feathers or small squares. Cover the container with plastic wrap or vinyl and reserve the ceviche in the fridge or refrigerator for approximately 20-30 minutes.

After the resting time, remove the container from the refrigerator and add the red pepper, oregano, ginger, garlic paste (if you wish) and salt to taste. Mix the ingredients well. Add the avocado in medium squares and continue mixing the ingredients of the fish ceviche.

Before serving, add the finely chopped coriander as shown in the photo. This is always the last ingredient added to prevent it from oxidizing.

Serve the shrimp and tilapia ceviche adding, if you want, a little toasted corn to give the recipe a crispy touch. Accompany it with green plantain chips and enjoy.
