This time I propose you a sensational appetizer, some salty stuffed puff pastries, idea of my dear friend Bergua, who always has fantastic and very original ideas. I had never tried the combination of sobrasada and honey and I loved it. That contrast between the sweetness of the honey and the saltiness of the sobrasada, accompanied by the crunchy and smooth presence of the puff pastry is simply wonderful.
Despite what it may seem, these sobrassada canapés with honey are a light snack. To start and not stop, go I prepared these savory stuffed tartlets for my husband’s birthday and they disappeared instantly. My whole family complained to me about how few they had been. Next time I have to make at least twice as much because they are amazing!
Ingredients to make salty stuffed puff pastry – With sobrassada and honey:
- 12 small puff pastries
- 50 grams of Sobrassada
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Sesame seeds to decorate
How to make salty stuffed puff pastry – With sobrassada and honey:
First, to make these mini savory stuffed puff pastries in a bowl, mix the sobrassada and the honey until you get a uniform dough. Now in summer there is no problem, but when it is colder, if the honey is very dense we can put it in the microwave for a few seconds until it is fluid and suitable for mixing. Fill the original salty puff pastries generously, and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Then we put the sobrassada vol-au-vents with honey in the oven at 160ºC for about 8-10 minutes, so that the puff pastry is dyed the color of the sobrassada.
We can serve the salty stuffed tartlets hot or cold, as they are fabulous either way. You will see, if you try them you will repeat for sure. Delicious!
Tip: You can also replace the sesame seeds with other nuts and get some sobrassada tartlets with honey and pine nuts, for example.
