Salvadoran Rice Recipe

Ingredients to make Salvadoran Rice:

  • 3 cups of rice
  • 1 can of green peas
  • 1 can of corn
  • 1 medium potato unit
  • Green beans
  • 1 unit of Carrot
  • 1 unit of Celery
  • 1 branch of Coriander
  • 1 unit of onion
  • 1 unit of tomato
  • 1 unit of green Chile (not spicy)
  • 1 jet of Oil
  • 5 cups of Water (1200 milliliters)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of Annatto or color

How to make Salvadoran Rice:

  1. Wash and drain the rice. Separately, chop all the vegetables into small squares.
  2. In a deep saucepan put oil and fry all the chopped vegetables together with the rice. When the rice starts to brown, add the 5 cups of water and let it boil for about 10 minutes.
  3. Then add the corn and peas. Correct the seasoning and color to taste by adding salt and annatto.
  4. Cover the rice and cook over low heat until the rice is soft.
  5. Ready, serve the Salvadoran rice and accompany it with meat, chicken or fish and a fresh salad
