Ingredients to make Salmon in puff pastry:

  • 2 pieces of salmon
  • 1 package of spinach
  • 100 milliliters of cooking cream (milk cream)
  • 20 grams of grated cheese
  • 1 rectangular puff pastry sheet
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 egg (to paint the puff pastry)
  • 1 splash of olive oil

How to make salmon in puff pastry:

  1. To make salmon in puff pastry, start by washing the spinach. For two pieces of fish, half a bag will be enough, which is equivalent to about 100 grams. If the leaves are too big, cut them into smaller pieces. Once this is done, heat a couple of tablespoons in a pan, add the spinach and sauté them over medium heat.
  2. When the spinach begins to diminish, add the cream and the grated cheese, which can be Parmesan or another cheese that you like. Taste in case a little salt is needed. When everything is mixed, turn off the heat and set aside to cool down a bit.
  3. Extend the puff pastry dough and cut 2 rectangles. You can make your own dough by following the Easy Puff Pastry Dough Recipe. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  4. Cut the pieces of salmon by portions, that is, one piece per person. Remove the darkest part from the edges and reserve it for other recipes, such as to make fish stock. Also remove the skin and any thorns that may be present.
  5. Put a piece of salmon on top of each rectangle of puff pastry, right in the center. On top of the salmon spread a layer of spinach cream. We have chosen to make salmon in puff pastry with spinach, but the truth is that you can also use chard or simply omit this ingredient.
  6. Close the packages by passing the pastry puff over them and sealing the edges well with your fingers. To improve the presentation of the puff pastry salmon cake, you can place strips of dough on top. Paint the packets with the beaten egg and cook the salmon in puff pastry in the oven at 180ºC, with heat above and below, for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Tip: The final cooking time will depend on each oven, so we recommend you keep an eye on it to prevent it from burning.
  8. When they are golden, remove them from the oven and serve them right away if you want to enjoy them hot. Clever! The recipe for salmon in puff pastry is that easy, quick and delicious.
