Salmon al papillote with potatoes recipe

It is a culinary technique of French origin consisting of cooking food inside a package of aluminum foil or brown paper. On this occasion we have prepared salmon en papillote with potatoes, a super healthy dish, low in fat and high in protein. Also, you won’t have to dirty the kitchen because you only need the oven. Go ahead and prepare this baked fish papillote!

Ingredients to make Salmon al papillote with potatoes:

  • 300 grams of fresh salmon
  • 2 units of Potato
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • 1 unit of Lemon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • To accompany
  • 2 dessert spoons of grain mustard

How to make Salmon al papillote with potatoes:

  1. We gather all the ingredients to prepare the salmon en papillote with potatoes.
  2. First of all, we wash the potatoes well and cut them into large wedges, as indicated in the image.
  3. We put water to boil and cook the potatoes in abundant boiling water with a little salt for 5-7 minutes. After that time, we drained them and transferred them to a baking dish.
  4. To prepare the salmon papillote, we place a sheet of silver paper on our work table and place the slice of salmon on top. Season the salmon with salt and pepper; put a few slices of garlic on top and a couple of lemon slices.
  5. We close the foil making a small package without any opening so that the fish cooks in its own juice. We do the same with the other piece of salmon and put it in the oven at 180ºC for 20 minutes.
  6. On the other hand, season the potatoes with salt and pepper, add a little sliced ​​garlic and drizzle with a little olive oil. We put the potatoes in the oven until they are golden.
  7. Tip: If you feel like it you can add some aromatic herb such as thyme or oregano.
  8. We open the foil being careful not to burn ourselves, remove the garlic and lemon, and serve the salmon in a foil with potatoes and a little Dijon mustard.
