Rice with heart of palm recipe

Ingredients to make Rice with hearts of palm:

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups of hearts of palm
  • 2 cups of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of Ham
  • 1 cup of sweet cream
  • 1 cup of Cream of asparagus
  • 2 cups of Milk (480 milliliters)
  • 1 cup of mushrooms
  • 30 grams of flour
  • 1 unit of sweet chili
  • ¼ cup onion
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup of Cilantro
  • 125 grams of Butter
  • 1 cup sweet corn

How to make Rice with hearts of palm:

  1. The first thing you should do is cook the rice. To do this, remember that for every cup of rice you must add two of water. Season the rice to your liking and when it is ready, reserve it for later. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  2. Now is the time to prepare the filling for the rice with heart of palm. Finely chop the hearts of palm, heat a little butter in a pan over medium heat and fry it together with the mushrooms, cilantro, sweet corn, sweet chili and chopped onion.
  3. When the sauce is ready, remove it from the heat and set it aside. Separately, prepare the sauce for the rice. To do this, take a pot and add the milk, sweet cream, flour, cream cheese, butter and cook everything until the sauce thickens. Separately, dissolve the cream of asparagus in a cup of water.
  4. When the sauce is ready, remove it from the heat. Now, take a Pyrex or ovenproof mold and place a layer of rice, another of stir-fry, a little mozzarella cheese, another layer of sauce and, finally, half of the asparagus cream. Repeat this process until you run out of ingredients. It is important that the last layer is rice and sprinkle plenty of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Another totally valid option is to mix the rice with the sauce, add the asparagus cream, heat it all together for a few minutes and add it to the Pyrex. Then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese. You can make the rice cake however you like.
  6. Bake the rice with heart of palm until the cheese is golden, it can take about 10-15 minutes, depending on the power of your oven. When ready, remove it and serve it hot. You can serve it as a starter or main dish and accompany it with a fresh salad.
