Rice recipe with squid and coloring

Ingredients to make Rice with squid and coloring:

  • 500 grams of squid strips clean and fresh
  • 200 grams of bomba rice
  • 1 piece of red pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 piece of green pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 jet of Oil
  • 1 tablespoon food coloring
  • Water (3 small glasses of water for every small glass of rice)

How to make Rice with squid and coloring:

  1. The first step to prepare this rice with squid and coloring is to make a stir-fry with the vegetables. To do this, chop the onion, pepper and garlic, put it in a casserole with olive oil and put it on the fire so that the vegetables in the calamari paella begin to brown.
  2. While the vegetables are frying, prepare a casserole with water and the coloring and heat it up. You can also prepare a seafood stock or a fish fumet in a place where you only put water.
  3. When the sauce is well done, we remove it and crush it in the glass of the blender or electric mixer. I grind it because I don’t like to find the pieces of vegetables in the rice with squid but you can leave them whole if you want.

  5. When the squids are almost done, we add the rice, stir it and let it cook for 5 more minutes.

  7. And then add the water with the coloring, and let the rice with squid cook for approximately 15 minutes.
  8. Once the time has passed, we try that the rice with squid and coloring is almost done or to the point. Remove it, letting it rest for 5 minutes and serve.
