Rice curry recipe with onion

Ingredients for Curry Rice with Onion:

  • 250 grams of Rice
  • 500 milliliters of Water
  • 3 grams of Curry powder
  • 1 gram of cardamom seeds
  • 1 branch of long onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 unit of white onion
  • 30 grams of white sugar
  • 1 splash of sunflower oil
  • 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper

How to make Rice Curry with Onion:

  1. Before making the curry rice and caramelized onion, the first step is to prepare the ingredients.
  2. Heat a pot with a little oil and add the cardamom seeds, stir for a few seconds to activate it.
  3. Add the long onion and finely chopped garlic with a pinch of salt. Cover and cook over low heat until the onion is soft.
  4. Add the curry powder and mix very well, cook for approximately 30 seconds
  5. Add the rice and mix, this process is called nacre and it is done until the rice becomes a little transparent.
  6. To finish the curry rice, add the water and cook over medium heat. Rectify the flavor with salt and when the water has evaporated, cover, lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes.
  7. To make the caramelized onion, cut the white onion into feathers and sauté a little in a pan with oil, add the sugar and cook over low heat, covered, until soft and golden. Rectify flavor with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve the curry rice and cover with the caramelized onion, enjoy, this dish is an excellent accompaniment to both red and white meats.
