Recipe Salad of figs with cheese and honey

We like summer recipes because they are fresh and do not require cooking time. Among my preferences for the hot months are summer salads, since they usually combine vegetables and seasonal fruit. On this occasion, we have taken advantage of one of those seasonal fruits in southern Spain to make a fig salad with cheese and honey.

Brava’s and figs are fruits from the fig tree that differ in color, size and ripening period. This dish can be prepared with both figs and Brava’s, whichever suits you best. Follow and we’ll show you how to prepare this great salad with figs!

Ingredients to make Fig Salad with Cheese and Honey:

  • 4 units of Figs or figs
  • 100 grams of fresh cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

How to make Fig Salad with Cheese and Honey:

We gather all the ingredients to prepare the fig salad with cheese and honey. For this dish we have used braves, normal fresh cheese, semi-cured cheese and orange blossom honey.  However, you can vary the dish and replace the braves with figs or the semi-cured cheese with cured cheese or pomegranate piano. To start this summer salad, we grated the cheese. We have used semi-cured cheese but keep in mind that Parmesan cheese works great for this recipe.

Cut the fresh cheese into slices that are not too thin or thick, as indicated in the image. For this summer recipe we have chosen small fresh cheeses but you can also use larger ones and adapt the presentation.

Peel the figs or figs and also cut them into slices. Brava’s also come from the fig tree but they ripen earlier, between June and July, have tighter flesh and are usually larger than figs. Any of the two fruits, braves and figs, can be used for this salad. Assemble the fig salad by placing a base of fresh cheese and a layer of figs. We repeat the process again and finish with a layer of figs.

Put some grated cheese on top and sprinkle with honey. This summer recipe goes very well with honey.
