FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

Sardines have a high protein content, essential minerals and highly beneficial nutrients for our body such as iron or phosphorus. Likewise, like all blue fish, they are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, so including them in our diet is essential to be able to take advantage of all their properties. Take note of the ingredients and prepare these exquisite sardines stuffed with ham easily.

Ingredients to make Sardines stuffed with ham:

  • 16 units of Sardines
  • 125 grams of sweet ham
  • 100 grams of grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 1 handful of breadcrumbs
  • 1 bottle of Oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes

How to make Sardines Stuffed with Ham:

  1. We clean the sardines well, removing the heads and the bones, season to taste. Next, we finely chop the sweet ham, also known as York ham, and mix it with the grated cheese
  2. We place the open sardines with the skin down on the work table and fill them by placing a little of the previous mixture of ham and cheese in the center. We close them very carefully, pass them through the flour and then through the beaten egg and breadcrumbs.
  3. We fry the stuffed and battered sardines in plenty of not very hot olive oil. When they are ready, drain them and reserve on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
  4. Finally, we serve the sardines stuffed with ham and cheese accompanied by a small salad made with julienned lettuce and cherry tomatoes, or the green salad of your choice
