Recipe of artichokes battered with flour and egg

Today I am sharing some artichokes battered with flour and egg, a simple recipe that we can prepare as a tapa or as an accompaniment to a meal. It is a very good vegetable, which we can prepare in many ways, but the taste is sometimes a bit bitter and not everyone likes it, especially the little ones, so we have to find ways to prepare it in a more attractive way. And tasty, like these that I propose today, some rich crunchy battered artichokes that are very tender inside and very tasty.

Ingredients to make Artichokes battered with flour and egg:

  • 4 units of Artichokes
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 125 milliliters of cold water
  • 200 milliliters of Oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 lemon

How to make Artichokes battered with flour and egg:

  1. The first thing we will do to prepare these battered artichokes with flour and egg is to put a glass of water in the freezer so that when we use it is very cold but not frozen.
  2. Then we will clean the artichokes, we will remove the green and hard leaves until leaving the heart.
  3. We will divide them into quarters or smaller.
  4. We take a bowl with water, we will squeeze a lemon and we will also put some slices, and we will add the artichokes, so that they do not rust.
  5. To prepare the batter for the crunchy battered artichokes, beat the egg in a bowl, add the cold water and beat well.
  6. Next we put the flour and a pinch of salt and we mix it gently until everything is integrated.
  7. Heat a frying pan with plenty of oil. We take the artichokes out of the water, dry them a little with kitchen paper and put them inside the dough.
  8. When the oil is very hot, we will fry the artichokes in batches, and we will go around on all sides so that they are very tender inside.
  9. We will remove the artichokes coated with flour from the pan and put them on a plate with kitchen paper to absorb all the oil.
