Ingredients to make Rice Wafer Spring Rolls:

  • ½ Cabbage
  • 1 Carrot
  • ½ onion
  • 10 raw prawns
  • 50 grams of mushrooms
  • 10 rice wafers
  • 1 splash of soy sauce
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 jet of oil

How to make Rice Wafer Spring Rolls:

First we wash and chop the onion, carrot and cabbage, all into small pieces. So, to make the vegetable filling, put a frying pan over low heat with a little oil and when it is hot, add all these ingredients. When the vegetables are sautéed add the prawns and mushrooms, the first peeled and chopped. Season with a little soy sauce and a little pepper. Let everything cook for about ten minutes and turn off the heat. I don’t add salt since soy sauce is quite salty. To continue with the preparation of our homemade spring rolls, it is time to soften the rice wafers and form the rolls.

To do this, we submerge them in a container with hot water until they are soft, then stretch them out on a clean kitchen cloth and fill with the vegetables, forming the typical rolls, as seen in the photo.

Cover a frying pan with very hot oil and fry the spring rolls, taking care not to break them. The rice wafer is very thin so they will be right away. Reserve on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and voila. These rich spring rolls with rice wafers can be served as an appetizer with some sambaizu sauce or with the classic Chinese sweet and sour sauce. Bon Appetite!
