Recipe For Quinoa Burger With Meat

Quinoa has become a highly appreciated food today, and now it is much easier to find it in any supermarket. Perhaps you have not tried it yet or you would like to introduce it into your usual diet, but you do not know very well how.

Well, I am going to make you a proposal that you are going to love, and that is to make your own beef burger incorporating quinoa. Ask your butcher to chop up a good piece of veal and let’s get to work with the recipe.

Ingredients to make Quinoa Burger with meat:

yogurt sauce:

  1. 1 Greek yogurt
  2. 2 dessert spoons of mayonnaise
  3. 1 French onion
  4. 1 large garlic clove
  5. 1 pinch of salt and pepper

Burger:

  1. 150 grams of Quinoa
  2. 550 grams of minced beef
  3. 2 tablespoons of Mustard
  4. 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  5. 4 tender garlic
  6. 4 hamburger buns
  7. 1 handful of baby spinach
  8. 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Quinoa Burger with meat:

  • First we are going to prepare the yogurt sauce, so we will have it ready just for the moment of serving our homemade hamburger.
  • So, start by peeling and chopping the shallot (French onion), we do the same with the garlic.
  • Tip: If you don’t have French onion, use a piece of common onion.
  • Put the yogurt together with the mayonnaise, garlic and chopped shallot in a bowl, season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and reserve in the fridge covered with plastic wrap until ready to use.
  • Remember that if you want, you can make homemade mayonnaise or dairy if you can’t eat eggs.
  • Once the sauce is prepared, let’s go with the preparation of the hamburger:
  • First we are going to cook the quinoa, each manufacturer has its formula, so read the instructions on your package first.
  • In mine it says that you have to use three parts of quinoa for one of water. So bring the water to a boil with a pinch of salt. When it boils, add the quinoa. Cook for 10 minutes and let rest for 5 minutes off the heat.
  • Trick: The quinoa, during the rest, must have absorbed all the water and remain dry.
  • Next, put the minced beef, the cold quinoa, the mustard, a tablespoon and a half of olive oil, the minced spring garlic and a little salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Mix well with your hands until you check that the ingredients have been evenly distributed.
  • Form the burgers with your hands with the dough obtained. Leave them tight so they don’t fall apart when cooking and turn them over.
  • With this amount of ingredients, about four normal-sized hamburgers should come out.
  • Put the remaining oil in a pan and make the hamburgers on both sides. As the hamburger is thick, check that it is well done inside too. Flip carefully so the burger doesn’t break.
  • Tip: At this point they could be frozen. Wrap in plastic wrap and store in the freezer. Thaw before grilling.
  • And here we go with the assembly of the hamburger:
  • Put on top of one of the halves of the bread, start by placing a little yogurt sauce and some fresh spinach leaves.
