Recipe for potato croquettes with ground beef and cheese

Personally, I love potatoes, as it is a very easy and quick ingredient to prepare, as well as versatile and suitable for any dish. Likewise, it is a very accessible product and, therefore, on this occasion I have a perfect recipe for you with this delicious food, some potato croquettes with ground beef and cheese, the union of the delicious and creamy flavor of potatoes with a stuffed with ground beef and cheese that no one will imagine.

Ingredients to make Potato Croquettes with Ground Beef and Cheese:

  • 5 pieces of medium potatoes
  • 300 grams of ground beef
  • 150 grams of Oaxaca cheese
  • ½ piece of Onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of salt

How to make Potato Croquettes with Ground Beef and Cheese:

First of all, make sure that your ingredients are complete and in order, since in this way following the recipe for potato croquettes stuffed with ground beef will be much easier.  Let’s get started!

Tip: If you don’t have Oaxaca cheese, you can use another one of your choice.

In a saucepan, place the previously washed potatoes, add water until they are completely covered, and add a tablespoon of salt. Once this is done, let the potatoes boil over medium heat until we notice that they are cooked and soft. At this point, turn off and let cool. In a frying pan, place a little oil and add the finely chopped garlic and onion, season with salt and pepper, and let sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion turns transparent. Add the ground meat to the previous pan, a little salt, pepper and let the stuffing of the potato croquettes cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent the meat or onion from burning. Once the meat is completely cooked, turn off and reserve. When the potatoes are completely cold, we peel them and place them in a deep container, we begin to crush them  until we have a kind of puree and season to taste.

Tip: If the puree is a bit dry you can add a little milk.

We take a little mashed potato and make a kind of slightly flattened pancake. Then, we take a spoonful of meat sauce and place it in the center along with a little Oaxaca cheese.  We carefully close and form the potato croquette stuffed with ground meat and cheese. In a deep plate, beat the egg and pass the potato and meat croquettes so that they are impregnated. Later we pass them through a light layer of flour in order to prevent them from breaking when frying them. In a frying pan over medium heat and with hot oil, fry the potato croquettes stuffed with ground beef for about 2 minutes on each side, turning them whenever required. To prevent them from sticking to each other, it is advisable to cook fewer croquettes, although this may take a little longer. Finally, let the excess fat drain off and that’s it. We can now enjoy these delicious potato croquettes with ground beef and cheese accompanied by three delights rice, spring pasta or the dish that we like the most.  Bon Appetite!
