  • 1 Carrot
  • Cream cheese
  • Wooden chopsticks

How to make Olive and Cheese Penguins:

Making these Christmas appetizers is very easy, you just have to have a little patience. So, first things first, gather all the ingredients on the crafting table. Wash and peel the carrot.  When it is very clean, cut carrot slices, neither too thick nor too thin. Then, cut a small triangle from each slice and reserve separately. With these slices and triangles we will make the base and beak of our olive penguins. You can work the olives in two ways to make the body of the penguins. You can chop them in half, lengthwise or you can make this same cut but without actually separating the olive into two halves. Do this only with half of the olives, the other half we will need whole. Now, be very careful when doing this step because you can easily stain the olives. Using a scooping spoon, scoop out pieces of cream cheese and place between the two olive parts. In this way we will create the body of the penguins. Repeat this operation for half the olives.

Place the olives stuffed with cream cheese on the round carrot base, place a whole olive on top horizontally and insert the small carrot triangle into the hole in the center. Hold everything with a wooden toothpick. Serve the olive and cheese penguins filling a plate with many of them and enjoy. This fun appetizer is perfect for special occasions such as Christmas dinner, and in that case, we recommend accompanying it with other Christmas canapés such as avocado and tomato toast or the fun Santa strawberries.
