How to make Tuna Apple Pasta Salad:

We gather all the ingredients to prepare the cold pasta salad with tuna. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling water with a little salt. We have used spirals, but you can also use any type of short pasta that you like, such as bow ties or macaroni. Once the pasta is cooked, drain; pass through cold water and reserve.

Tip: The cooking time depends on the manufacturer’s instructions.

To continue with the pasta salad with tuna and apple, we peel the apple, cut it into squares and place it in a salad bowl.

For this type of fresh summer salad, it is best to use green apples for their acid touch, although if you prefer another variety you can also use it. Next, add the filleted pitted black olives. Olives provide us with vitamins of group A and B, and have minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium. It is time to add the capers and the drained tuna. Capers are fruits with a high antioxidant power due to their flavonoid content and they also have vitamin C.

For this salad you can use any type of canned tuna: in olive oil, in sunflower oil or in its own juice. Add the cooked pasta to the salad and mix the ingredients well so that the flavors are integrated. If necessary, we rectify salt. You can also add some aromatic herb such as oregano or basil.

To dress the pasta salad with tuna and apple, add a little apple cider vinegar and a few tablespoons of olive oil. Mix well and serve cold.

Since this is a light pasta salad, we prefer not to use mayonnaise, but if you prefer you can also dress with a pink sauce dressing.
