How to make Lettuce Salad with Goat Cheese and Ham:
The first thing you should do to start preparing the cheese salad is to wash the lettuce well, discard those leaves in poor condition and chop the rest to taste. Place the drained lettuce in a salad bowl or the container that you will use to serve the salad. Cut the slices of goat cheese into quarters and place them on the salad along with the chopped lettuce. If you prefer, you can cut the cheese into more or less small pieces, to your liking! Distribute the dried fruit on top, which can be raisins, walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc. You can cut the Serrano ham to taste and add it to the cheese salad without doing anything else, or follow my recipe and cook it in the microwave to make it crispy. It’s very easy, place the slices of ham on a plate, one next to the other, and cook them in the microwave at maximum power for one minute. Remove the plate, turn the ham slices over and put them back in for another minute. Repeat this step until the ham is to your liking.
When the Serrano ham is crispy, chop it with your hands and distribute the pieces all over the lettuce salad.
Tip: You can add more ingredients to taste.
Now, it is time to prepare the vinaigrette to season the goat cheese and ham salad. Since I incorporated these two ingredients, I decided to prepare a honey, mustard and balsamic vinegar dressing, but you can use other options if you don’t like this one. To make the vinaigrette, take a container and mix all the ingredients in it except the oil. Once integrated, add the oil little by little and test the preparation to see if you should add more of any product. Depending on your tastes, you may have to add more mustard, more honey or more vinegar, try and play with the amounts.
Pour the honey mustard vinaigrette over the salad, mix well and serve. As I mentioned, this salad of lettuce, goat cheese and Serrano ham is perfect to consume as a starter, before a plate of baked chicken or even stuffed pasta. Although it is also totally valid for a main dish, since it is forceful and has a lot of flavor.
