Ingredients to make Ham and sausage empanadas:
- 500g puff pastry
- 200g braised ham
- 200g sausages
- 100 g grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 onion
- Oil
- 80 g grated emmental cheese
- 1 beaten egg
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
How to make Ham and sausage empanadas:
Thaw the puff pastry and turn out onto a floured surface. Finely chop the ham and sausages and set aside.
Chop the onion and brown in the oil along with the chopped sausages over medium-low heat, until the onion is tender and transparent. Season. Mix the chopped ham, onion and mozzarella cheese in a bowl. Rectify the point of seasoning. Roll out the puff pastry sheets. One of them is cut into circles of eight centimeters in diameter and the other into discs of six or seven centimeters. Grease a baking sheet. Distribute the small discs on it. Put a small amount of stuffing, leaving a margin of approximately one centimeter around.
Sprinkle with grated emmental and pepper. Brush the edges with the beaten egg and place a larger disc on top. Gently press. Repeat the same process and bake for 15 minutes at 190°C.
