Puff pastry roses and bacon recipe

Ingredients to make Puff Pastry and Bacon Roses:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 200 grams of sliced ​​bacon
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato jam

How to make Puff Pastry and Bacon Roses:

1.The first step to prepare the puff pastry roses will be to prepare the ingredients. Keep in mind that both the tomato jam and the puff pastry can be obtained ready-made or made at home.

2.Sprinkle flour on a flat surface, spread the sheet of puff pastry leaving it quite thin. Then make horizontal cuts of approximately 10 centimeters.

3.Separate each of the puff pastry strips and spread a layer of jam. Do not exceed the amount of tomato jam because they can be very sweet, place only a thin layer over the entire surface.

4.Next, place the bacon slices along the puff pastry strips, leaving a free edge as seen in the photo. Don’t overdo it with the amount of bacon either, make sure the slices don’t overlap and cut the bacon into pieces if necessary.

5.Fold that free edge of dough inwards, slightly covering the bacon. Look at the photo if you have doubts about how to do it.

6.Now it is time to form the puff pastry rose. To do this, he rolls up the strip of puff pastry delicately, trying not to press too hard.

7.Once you have all the bacon roses ready, place each one of them in a mold for cupcakes or muffins. You don’t need to grease the pan, but if you do, add as little butter or oil as possible, as the bacon and jam will release their own fat during cooking.

8.Take the puff pastries to the oven and cook at 160º C. for about 30 minutes. Check the preparation after the first 25 minutes, it will be ready when the puff pastry has browned on the outside.

9.Let cool to room temperature, unmold and serve the original puff pastry and bacon roses, decorating the dish with imagination and style. You can use this same procedure using strawberry and apple jam to make a delicious dessert.
