Ingredients to make Mushroom Stuffed Puff Pastry:

• 1 sheet of puff pastry (preferably rectangular)

• 300 grams of fresh mushrooms (or other types of mushrooms)

• 1 onion

• 2 cloves of garlic

• 1 dessert spoon of thyme

• 1 tablespoon of butter

• 1 pinch of black pepper

• 1 pinch of salt

• 1 egg (to paint)

How to make Mushroom Stuffed Puff Pastry:

Gather the necessary ingredients to prepare this mushroom and onion puff pastry.

Trick: In this case I have used fresh mushrooms but you can use any other type of fresh or frozen mushrooms.

Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the minced onion and garlic until the onion turns translucent. Add the sliced mushrooms, season with thyme, salt and pepper to taste and fry everything for 1 minute only. Turn off the heat and let the mushroom puff pastry filling cool slightly.

Tip: The mushrooms should not be overcooked so they do not lose their flavor and consistency.

Open the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares. Distribute the mushroom and onion filling in the center of half of the portions that you have cut out. If you prefer, you can make the easy puff pastry recipe yourself at home.

Cover each square with the unfilled portions and roll up the edges to prevent the mushrooms from falling out. Prick the mushroom puff pastry with a fork to prevent them from opening due to the steam during baking and brush the surface with the beaten egg.

Bake the puff pastry filled with mushrooms in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown. Serve puff pastries immediately as an appetizer, main dish, or side dish, such as a pasta salad with chicken and lettuce. Take advantage!
