Puff pastry is much appreciated and we can use it for both savory and sweet, although this time we are going to learn how to prepare a savory appetizer with frankfurters. Thus, these rolls are stuffed with frankfurter and cheese, they are ideal for preparing a weekend dinner, since they can be made beforehand, they are left in the fridge until it is time to put them in the oven and that’s it. They can also be made for a snack by cutting them smaller. Not only the little ones, who eat it well, like it a lot, but the grown-ups also love it. Read on and find out how to make cheesy frankfurter stuffed puff pastry.
Ingredients to make puff pastry stuffed with Frankfurt with cheese:
- 6 frankfurters (sausages)
- 1 sheet of rectangular puff pastry
- 6 slices of cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 handful of seeds
- 1 handful of grated cheese
How to make puff pastry filled with Frankfurt cheese:
We prepare the ingredients. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 6 parts, fry the sausages a bit in the pan (this is optional) or use them without cooking previously, have the cheese slices ready and beat the egg and set aside. Put a piece of sliced cheese on each rectangle of puff pastry. Put the sausages on top. The Frankfurt’s will be placed on one side of the puff pastry rectangle, as seen in the photo.
We begin to roll up the puff pastry stuffed with Frankfurt with cheese. It must be well rolled and with the edges completely sealed. We put baking paper on a tray and, on top, the puff pastry rolls filled with Frankfurt.
We paint the rolls with the beaten egg, with the help of a kitchen brush. On top, we sprinkle sesame seeds, grated cheese…, whatever we want! Put the puff pastry rolls with Frankfurt in the oven at 180ºC, placing the tray in the middle of the oven, and leave them until golden brown. We remove from the oven and serve. Warm, these puff pastry rolls stuffed with frankfurter and cheese are very good.
