Ingredients to make puff pastries stuffed with caramelized onions:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry sheet
  • 100 grams of Brie cheese
  • 1 can of red wine caramelized onion
  • 1 egg to paint

How to make Caramelized Onion Stuffed Puff Pastries:

We start by spreading the puff pastry on the work table. We divide it into 10-centimeter squares and then make a few cuts about a cm from the edge in the corners, leaving a centimeter in the center without cutting.

The photos show the details very well. Remember that if you want to make everything homemade, you can follow the step-by-step recipe for easy puff pastry.

To form the puff pastry flowers we will join the ends, it is best to follow the instructions as seen in the photo. We have to ensure that the edges are well glued so that they do not open.

The process is very entertaining and the result is worth it. Once the flowers are formed, we put some weight in the holes (you can use dried legumes such as chickpeas) so that the puff pastry does not rise, and we prick the rest of the base with a fork. Brush everything with beaten egg and cook in the oven at 200ºC for 20 minutes. Remember to place the puff pastry flowers on a tray lined with baking paper.

When finished, remove from the oven and remove the legumes that you have placed as a weight. Then we fill the hollows of the flowers with a teaspoon of brie cheese and the red wine caramelized onion marmalade.

Finally, we return the tray to the oven off and give it another 5 minutes of cooking with the residual heat, remove and let cool.

These puff pastries stuffed with caramelized onions are perfect to serve as an appetizer at a party or simply when you want to taste a gourmet dish, delicious and very easy to make.
