Puff pastry recipe filled with minced meat

Ingredients to make puff pastry stuffed with minced meat:

  • 700 grams of good quality sausages or minced meat
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 2 teaspoons of Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

How to make puff pastry stuffed with minced meat:

We start by preparing the filling for our puff pastry braid. To do this you must put the meat of the sausages, without the skin, in a bowl with onion, mustard, aromatic herbs and parsley.

Mix everything well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

To make this braid of minced meat you can use butcher sausages, as we have done, or buy minced meat to taste. Preheat the oven to 200ºC.

To make the puff pastry braid, we must stretch the sheet of dough to form a rectangle of 30×25 centimeters. We put this on the oven tray, lined with parchment paper, and mark the rectangle in three parts lengthwise, spread the meat roll in the center.

Make 1-inch diagonal cuts from the pasta that is not covered by the meat and on each side of the meat, about a centimeter from the filling.

To create the braid effect with the dough, first fold the ends up and then braid the strips over the sausage meat, as seen in the photo.
