Ingredients to make Puerto Rican Coquito:

  • 2 cans of evaporated milk
  • 2 cans of condensed milk
  • 1 can of coconut cream
  • 1 dessert spoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 dessert spoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of white liquor (to taste)

How to make Puerto Rican Coquito:

  • Take a container with a high edge and mix the evaporated milk with the condensed milk to start preparing this coquito from Puerto Rico.
  • Add the coconut cream and integrate it with the other ingredients. If you have a blender, you can do it there so that the Puerto Rican coquito mixes better.
  • Add the vanilla essence and mix everything well.
  • Finally, add the white liquor you want. The traditional recipe is made with white rum, but you can substitute it for the one you like best and make a Puerto Rican coquito without rum. What do you think of this original coquito?
  • Tip:and if you want this traditional coquito to be enjoyed by children as well, do not add any liquor!
  • Reserve the Puerto Rican coquito without eggsin the refrigerator and serve it when it is very cold. When serving it, sprinkle the ground cinnamon on top and decorate with a branch of this aromatic essence. You can take it after some delicious Christmas yolks for dessert, or during the Christmas lunch or dinner starter.
